Koh Samet is part of the Khao Laem Ya – Koh Samet National Park

The island is part of the Khao Laem Ya – Koh Samet National Park though all of Koh Samet’s beaches have been developed to cater to the large stream of Bangkok residents who flock to the island each weekend. Drawn by its 14 fine, white sand beaches that feature a number of beachside bars and restaurants, Thai and foreign visitors return again and again to Koh Samet to enjoy the excellent weather on the island and appreciate its great natural beauty, home to exotic wildlife species including monkeys, hornbills, gibbons, and butterflies. The Baphuon Temple in Cambodia

The Baphuon Templeis formed as a high, five tiered pyramid in sandstone which, in contrast to those of the 9th and 10th centuries, is rectangular in plan rather than square - with the superimposed upper tiers not decreasing but practically constant in height, almost certainly so that the view of the top was not obscured by the galleries. These galleries surround the first, third and the fifth tiers. The top terrace is about twenty metres above ground level. The base walls, though powerfully moulded, are not sculpted. Most people like it in Cambodia tour.

The outer gallery of the third enclosure has almost entirely disappeared, its materials having been used relatively recently to construct the outline of an enormous and almost shapeless reclining Buddha, on the western face of the upper levels, from a pile of blocks. Fortunately the gopura with bas-reliefs situated at mid height has simply been incorporated into this masonry without being demolished. The corner towers have been rased, as have almost all of the north and west gopuras.
Entering the monument by the eastern gopura, where three passageways are served by steep stairs, one can see, over the connecting door between the central section and the north wing, evidence of a practice peculiar to this period of Khmer art and which often caused structural failure; - that of cutting a channel in the sandstone lintel in order to set in a secondary wooden beam, whose time-worn remainsare still visible.

Khai Dinh Tomb is among the most interesting tomb of the Nguyen Kings

Khai Dinh Tomb is 10km from Hue City and is among the most interesting tomb of the Nguyen Kings. The construction of Khai Dinh Tomb was started on 4th September, 1920 and works were done only after 11 years. Khai Dinh was the last king of the Nguyen Dynasty to build a tomb for himself. Most people like it in Vietnam tour.

Emperor Khai Dinh decided to locate his tomb imperial at the foot of the mountain Chau Chu, 9 kilometres south of the city of Hue. In comparison with the rest of imperial tombs, this imperial tomb is small in extent, little more than 5600 square meters, however its construction, decoration and details are very elaborate.
Plus, if the local tour guides are to be believed, Khai Dinh's tomb was purposefully designed to be difficult to visit - the tomb was built on the side of a mountain, and its inner sanctum is 127 steps up from street level, a fact that must have grated on the court officials who were required on pain of their lives to pay their respects to the late emperor.
Though Khai Dinh Tomb is much smaller compared to those of the preceding emperors, (surface area: 117m * 48.5m), what it lacks in size is more than made up by the intricate architectural detailing that has gone in the construction of the tomb, intermingling many architectural trends: Asian and European as well as modern and ancient.

Kuang Si Waterfall makes for an excellent daytrip

Situated 30kms south of Luang Prabang, Kuang Si Waterfallsmakes for an excellent daytrip. Accessible by taxi or bicycle, the 650 feet high waterfall is at its most picturesque during the wet season however it can be visited year-round. Children are not recommended to climb to the top of the waterfall, but they can swim in the various pools at the bottom. Walkways and a few food vendors are present, making this a good place for a picnic. On the road out to Kuang Si Waterfall, there are a number of villages housing traditional hydro-rice mills. Most people like it in Laos tour.

An unusual alternative is to hire a boat and ride down the Mekong River before catching another boat for a short hop across to the falls. You will also need to pay an additional admission fee to one of the locals at the falls usually $2.00US per person. This goes towards keeping the bridges and walkways in good working order.
After 4:00 pm, it's worth a stroll around some of the local villages, such as the villages of the Kamu and H'mong (before this time they are empty as they are all out working in the paddy fields). If you do not feel up to the walk, you can always stay in the car. En route back to Luang Prabang, you may find that you have timed it perfectly to watch the sunset from Pha Bath Tai, a beautiful old temple.

The precinct of Tran Quoc Pagoda is highlighted by a high stupa

The precinct of Tran Quoc Pagoda is highlighted by a high stupa that you may recognize from a far erected in 1998. This stupa is composed of 11 floors with a height of 15m; each floor has a vaulted window holding a statue of Amitabha made from gemstone. On the top stands a nine-storey lotus (C?u ??nh liên hoa) and is also gemstone. This stupa is situated symmetrically with the 50-year-old Bodhi tree gifted by former Indian President on the occasion of his visit to Hanoi in 1959. Abbot Thich Thanh Nha of Tran Quoc Pagoda explains the meaning of this correlation: “The lotus represent Buddha while the Bodhi is a symbol of supreme knowledge”. Most people like it in Vietnam tour.

Not only that, Tran Quoc is also a small museum of priceless antiques dated thousands to hundreds years old like worshiping statues in the front house. These statues are all engraved and polished meticulously by skillful craftsmen, which all bear spectacular features. Among them, the outstanding one is the statue “Thích ca th?p ni?t bàn”, which is evaluated as the most beautiful statue of Vietnam.
With all the historical and architectural values it possesses, Tran Quoc Pagoda is not only worth visiting as a sacred sanctuary of Buddhism attracting countless Buddhist believers; but also an indispensible destination for cultural explorers to Vietnam.

Pre Rup is best viewed when the sun is low in the sky

Pre Rup is best viewed when the sun is low in the sky, either in the early morning or late afternoon hours. During these hours, the temple stone appears rich in texture, and a variety of reddish hues become appreciable. Most people like it in Cambodia tour.

It is not known why the Cambodians have always attributed a funerary character to this temple. The name Pre Rup ("to turn the body") recalls one of the cremation rites, where the silhouette of the corpse in its bed of cinders is successively turned to different orientations. A large tank at the base of the east stair to the pyramid is considered by some to have been used in such ceremonies - and the funerary link continues in the legend of the careless King whose passion for sweet cucumbers caused his untimely death at the hands of his gardener.(24)
The temple is spelled 'Pre Rup' on most tourist maps, but apparently it should be "Preah Rup" like many other temple of Angkor. The local pronunciation is "pray roop". With its brick and laterite construction, the temple is quite beautiful in the early morning or late afternoon sun. Indeed, the temple has become a popular alternative spot to view the sunset. While there are crowds who gather around the top in the late afternoon, there are not yet the hordes that swarm up Phnom Bakheng.

Banteay Srei displays some of the finest examples of classical Khmer art

Banteay Srei displays some of the finest examples of classical Khmer art. The third enclosure is 95 by 110 m, with gopuras in the laterite wall to the east and west. Neither pediment of the eastern gopura is in situ: one is on the ground nearby, while the other is in Paris's Guimet Museum. Most of the area within the third enclosure is occupied by a moat (now dry) divided into two parts by causeways to the east and west. The succeeding second enclosure has a laterite wall of 38 by 42 m. Most people like it in Cambodia tour.

The brick inner enclosure wall, a 24 m square, has collapsed, leaving the first gopura isolated, while the laterite galleries which filled the second enclosure (one each to north and south, two each to east and west) have largely collapsed. The eastern pediment of the east gopura shows Shiva Nataraja. The central part of the west gopura was enclosed to form a sanctuary, with access being to either side.
Between the gopuras are the buildings of the inner enclosure: a library in each of the southeast and northeast corners, and in the centre the sanctuary set on a T-shaped platform 0.9 m high.

The Royal Palace was modelled in line with the Brahman cosmology to represent the center of the world

The Royal Palace was modelled in line with the Brahman cosmology to represent the center of the world, the fabled Mount Meru. The royal palace complex was built on the square brick foundation at the centre of the Royal Palace Fortress. All the palace buildings were structured according to the tradition of former royal palaces of Myanmar. All the buildings were made of teak and gilded with gold and vermilion. All buildings were single story buildings. The main entrance to the Royal Palace is in the east, which directly leads to the Great Audience Hall. The most important structure in the Royal Palace is the Lion Throne Hall (Sihasana Throne). This is the most magnificent building in the whole palace complex, and thus situated in the exact center of the whole palace complex. The building has a 78 meter high towering spire which was gilded with gold. This is King Mindon’s version of the center of the world. Most people like it in Burma tour / Myanmar tour.

The Hluttaw or the Supreme Court was where the official business of the court was conducted. The Lion Throne (Sihasana) was the chief throne of eight in the palace. The hall consists of two three-roofed wooden structures, richly decorated with figures and flowers, and supported by massive teak pillars painted red at the bottom and gilded above. Therein was a Lion-Throne (Sihasana) for the King.
Due north from the Clock Tower is a cluster of Mausoleums erected to the memory of some members of the Royal family. The most important historically is that of King Mindon, who died in 1878. It was originally a brick pyatthat, plastered over and whitewashed, erected by King Thibaw to the memory of his father, as soon as the grave had been built. The Sawbwa of Yawnghwe, decorated the king's tomb with glass mosaic. It is a square structure surmounted by a septuple roof terminating as usual in a hti. Other mausoleums include those of three wives of Mindon: Chief Queen; Queen Laungshe, mother of King Thibaw; Queen Sinbyumayin, mother of Queen Supayalat.

Sihanoukville is the ultimate getaway

Perched on the powdery sands of Independence Beach in Cambodia’s southwest region, Holiday Palace Resort, Sihanoukville is the ultimate getaway – a timeless haven in a luxurious beachfront resort. For many years, Sihanoukville has been a popular destination for international visitors because of its secluded location, pristine coastline and hospitable service. Now, with the resort’s new wing, luxury spa, swimming pool and beachside lounge, travelers have even more reason to seek refuge in the serenity, tranquility and privacy of our luxurious resort. Most people like it in Indochina Cambodia tour or Vietnam Cambodia Thailand Tours.
Surrounded by white-sand beaches and undeveloped tropical islands, Sihanoukville (Krong Preah Sihanouk), also known as Kompong Som, is Cambodia’s most happening beach destination. Visitor numbers have risen steadily in recent years – and stand to skyrocket now that flights from Siem Reap have been initiated.

Peace returned in 1993 following the historic elections organized by the United Nations Transitional Authority in Cambodia ( UNTAC) and in the ensuing ten years Sihanoukville has been busy picking up the pieces. First visited only by a few intrepid backpackers, guidebooks still talk of walls pockmarked by bullets, but any signs of war are hard to spot in today's Sihanoukville, whose new symbol seems to be the construction site. After 30 years of housing only ghosts, the Independence Hotel is up and running again, more and more Khmers and expats have settled down to run bars and restaurants, and the knowledge of what the New York Times dubbed "Asia's next trendsetting beach" is starting to spread.
Since Snooky is a relatively new city (1950) and did grow along with the steady growth of the tourists, all the negative elements came along. It is not safe (even for men) to walk alone on the beach after 9pm, there are plenty of glue sniffing kids and a lot of Java (Methamphetamine) smoking girls and boys and probably the worst Tuk Tuk Mafia (all with price agreements).

The One Pillar Pagoda is a historic Buddhist temple in Hanoi

The One Pillar Pagoda is a historic Buddhist temple in Hanoi, the capital of Vietnam. As you visit Hanoi, you may come to various other monuments, parks and historical places. Yet, the One-Pillar Pagoda reflects the architectural splendour that the country has grown. Most people like it in Vietnam tour or Vietnam Tour Package.

The temple was renovated in 1105 by Emperor Ly Nhan T?ng and a bell was cast and an installation was attempted in 1109. However, the bell, which was regarded as one of the four major capital works of Vietnam at the time, was much too large and heavy, and could not be installed. Since it could not be tolled while left on the ground, it was moved into the countryside and deposited in farmland adjacent to Nh?t Tr? Temple. This land was widely inhabited by turtles, so the bell came to be known as Quy ?i?n chung, which means Bell of the Turtle Farmland. At the start of the 15th century, Vietnam was invaded and occupied by the Ming Dynasty. In 1426, the future Emperor Lê L?i attacked and dispersed the Chinese forces, and while the Ming were in retreat and low on weapons, their commanding general ordered that the bell be smelted, so that the copper could be used for manufacturing weaponry.
After the temple was completed loyal followers flocked daily to give thanks and support to the emperor, praying to Quan Am for a long and successful sovereignty. Today, the concrete pillar that supports the tiny wooden pagoda is a replacement for the original one which was blown up by the departing French, it remains unclear how much of the wooden temple is the original one.
